Timothy Bone
Trainee Patent Attorney
During his training as a patent attorney, Tim has gained experience prosecuting patent applications in a variety of disciplines including medical devices, software and vehicle safety devices.
Tim has worked closely with clients to draft patent applications from client disclosure documents, and has worked with overseas agents to secure patent protection for clients around the world. He also supports the management of intellectual property portfolios both in the UK and internationally.
Before joining Forresters in 2022, he worked in the aerospace industry, primarily focusing on the design, assembly and test of precision aircraft control systems. More recently, Tim has worked with medical devices, computing systems, green energy and automotive technologies.
He has worked with a variety of clients, from start-up companies to large research organisations. Tim works within a range of industries, including healthcare, automotive safety and computing.
Tim holds a Master’s degree in aeronautical engineering from Loughborough University. As part of his Master’s year, Tim undertook a project to perform an unsteady computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation of a trapped-vortex combustor.
He has a number of interests outside of work, including travelling, photography, 3D printing and automotive maintenance, the latter of which Tim looks forward to devoting more time to when he eventually moves out of the city.
