Lianne Da-Cunha

Lianne joined the team at Forresters in September 2021. She became a fully qualified UK Patent Attorney in 2025, and is currently working towards her qualification as a European Patent Attorney.
Lianne has been involved in drafting applications in the field of aerospace, as well as prosecuting both UK and European patent applications. She has been part of a team that has successfully secured patent protection for inventions including autonomous aerial vehicles, and medical devices such as breathing masks.
Her background is in manufacturing engineering, but she mainly works in the mechanical and electromechanical fields. She also has experience drafting UK patent applications in the aerospace sector, as well as working with clients on mass spectrometers and chromatography systems.
She works with a wide range of clients, from large multinationals to SMEs.
Lianne graduated from the University of Cambridge with a First-Class master’s degree in Engineering, specialising in manufacturing engineering. Her master’s project was carried out in collaboration with a leading aerospace manufacturer and included developing a strategy to leverage their patent portfolio to facilitate and promote effective transitions to environmental sustainability.
Outside of work, she enjoys playing the piano and singing. She is also a keen baker and a budding cake decorator, having taken on the challenge of making a wedding cake for a friend.
