Jenny Donald
Partner
Having joined the patent profession in 2001, Jenny has significant experience in patent prosecution before the European Patent Office, as well as experience with opposition and appeal procedures.
Jenny has a proven track record of successful oppositions, particularly within the CRISPR technology space. She has also been successful in assisting clients with re-establishment requests when they have experienced difficulties.
With a BSc in biochemistry and genetics, Jenny now works primarily in the fields of gene editing technologies, including CRISPR, medical devices, diagnostic assays and personalised therapies.
Jenny has a large global client base, with many of her key clients based in the US. She works with both overseas patent firms, and large corporations, which provides her the opportunity to work on a lot of diverse subject matter. She also enjoys working with small to medium firms, as she can get a deeper understanding of their commercial needs and can assist in ensuring that this is supported by their patent portfolios. In particular, the gaining of strong protection in Europe can often assist in securing significant funding or acquisition.
She has a busy life outside of work supporting her two children’s active social lives!
