Elliot Farrell
Trainee Patent Attorney
Elliot is currently working towards becoming a fully-qualified UK and European Patent Attorney, having joined Forresters in September 2022.
He has worked with a variety of interesting clients in a range of industries. His experience includes working with an international sportswear brand to patent innovative footwear technology, vehicle safety innovations, as well as work on robotic exoskeletons.
Prior to working at Forresters, Elliot worked as an engineer in the aerospace and medical device industries, where he gained experience working with head-worn displays, virtual reality, advanced manufacturing and ultrasound. He is well-equipped to assist clients in these industries, as well as with related technologies, thanks to his background in mechanical engineering.
The clients Elliot works with range from large multinational brands and corporations, including sports and automotive companies, to start-up businesses and individual inventors.
He graduated from the University of Birmingham with a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, which included industrial experience. For his Master’s project, he designed a novel surgical instrument, optimised for single-port cardiothoracic surgery.
Outside of work, Elliot enjoys CrossFit and likes to travel to different countries with friends and family.
