She has extensive experience advising businesses on global IP strategy and protection, and specialise in trade mark and design prosecution, exploitation, enforcement and portfolio management on a national and international level.
After qualifying in Germany, she worked in federal government as legal adviser and as a Rechtsanwalt in a specialist firm of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys in Munich. Prior to joining Forresters at the beginning of 2016, Janette worked for a global IP consultancy and a firm of solicitors specialising in sports and entertainment law in London. Her work experience includes spending time on secondment to an in-house trade marks department of a multi-national drinks company.
Janette works with her clients to develop IP strategies and advises on a wide range of matters including brand clearance and protection, opposition and cancellation proceedings as well as enforcement. In addition, she also deals with company name complaints and domain name disputes.
Janette represents clients in all industry sectors and has acted for some of the leading consumer brands including luxury goods companies, beverage manufacturers and event organisers.
She read law in Germany and qualified as a Rechtsanwalt in Germany. In addition, she is a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney and UK solicitor.
Janette also holds a Masters of Law in International Business Legal Studies from the University of Exeter.
Janette enjoys hiking and is a keen skier. She enjoys spending time in the mountains and watching her children ski racing, although this also happens on dry slopes in the UK.
