Senior Associate
Meta primarily works on patent drafting, prosecution and opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office and German Patent and Trade Mark Office. She has worked in both private practice and in-house roles within the aerospace and automotive industries. Prior to join Forresters, Meta was Senior IP In-House Counsel for an international ICT company.
As a dual-qualified European and German Patent Attorney, Meta has over 20 years of experience in international intellectual property law. She has particular expertise in freedom to operate work, litigation and licensing, having worked on this for various European and German clients. She is also experienced in matters relating to the German Employee Inventions Act, and has served as an auditor in SEP cases and reviewed SEP relevance based on claim charts.
Meta’s technical background is physics. She is particularly experienced in prosecuting and defending patents in automotive, aerospace, medical technology and ICT technologies.
Meta holds a PhD in particle physics from the University of Munich. She carried out the research for both her Master’s and PhD theses at CERN in Geneva and Fermilab in Batavia/Chicago, Illinois. She trained as a German and European patent attorney at two German law firms.
She has experience serving clients ranging from European industries to German firms. She enjoys supporting her clients in both protection and enforcement matters, as well as handling management of global IP portfolios.
She enjoys travelling, visiting art exhibitions, and furthering her passion for aerospace by occasionally flying private planes as a co-pilot.
