Work Highlights

Louise is experienced with drafting patent applications for a variety of technical fields, including water treatment systems, batteries, suspending vehicle formulations, air purifiers, adiabatic systems, electronic cigarettes, phase change material products and biodegradable implants. In 2022, Louise produced a report for the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Observatory which examines the state of patent activity in the fuel cell space.

Technical Specialism

Her background in chemistry has given her a broad understanding of a range of technologies. She primarily works in the fields of chemistry and mechanical engineering with a particular interest in peptide engineering, bioinorganic chemistry, medical and mechanical devices and smart coatings. Louise is always keen to learn about new technologies when given the opportunity.

Louise’s Clients

She works with clients of all sizes, from start-up companies and individual inventors to multi-national companies.

Education & Training

Louise holds an MSci and a PhD in chemistry, both from the University of Birmingham. Louise also completed two postdoctoral positions at the University of Birmingham in the School of Chemistry and the Institute of Microbiology and Infection.

Louise co-authored several papers under her maiden name Louise Slope, including:
