Forresters to deliver West Midlands Intellectual Property Masterclass
Posted:
Attorneys from Forresters’ Birmingham Office are set to deliver an insightful Intellectual Property Masterclass course for businesses in the West Midlands, as part of an upcoming CIPA/CITMA added value session from 1-2 November 2023.
Partner Jagvir Purewal and Senior Associate Greg Smith will cover a range of topics related to IP, including patents, trade marks, copyright, and registered designs. The session will also help to guide businesses looking to commercialise their IP, including searching for existing IP rights, as well as the potential risks involved in pursuing IP protection, and how to overcome them.
The course will be of particular interest to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), who are sure to develop a better understanding of how to maximise their creative assets and innovations. The session can also help larger corporations to develop an “IP Champion” for their business, gaining an insight into the opportunities already available to them with their existing IP and how to make better use of future innovation.
The course is also CPD accredited, so is a great opportunity for professionals to log essential training hours.
Ahead of the session, Jagvir told us: “We are looking forward to assisting SMEs in the West Midlands during this session, helping them to recognise the value of their businesses’ intellectual property. IP can often be a business’ most valuable asset and so it’s vitally important to protect it. We’ll be providing a general overview of IP, as well as discussing common pitfalls, and the solutions to these issues, to ensure the attendees can gain valuable insights which they can apply to their businesses.”
This session is part of a two-day, non-residential course, held in central Birmingham. The cost of the course is £300+VAT (£360.) For more information, or to book your place on this course, please email ipmasterclass@ipo.gov.uk.
