This occasion provides us with an opportunity to recognise the vital contributions women make to the legal industry and the professional services sector as a whole.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At Forresters, we provide a supportive and diverse environment, encouraging growth and career progression among our workforce, 55% of which are women. We have a dedicated Equality and Diversity team, who are committed to maintaining a positive and inclusive working environment for all our colleagues.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our female colleagues lead the way for positive change and innovation in many ways, one of which is taking part in the Black Country Chamber of Commerce\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackcountrychamber.co.uk\/events\/08032023\/black-country-women-in-leadership-celebrate-international-women%E2%80%99s-day\/\">Women in Leadership event<\/a>&nbsp;on International Women\u2019s Day on 8 March. Partner&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/forresters-ip.com\/de\/people\/emma-johnson\/\">Emma Johnson<\/a>&nbsp;will be attending the event, discussing the role of women in leadership positions and the steps companies can take towards positive change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event is intended to guide attendees on everything from identifying, defining, and promoting their own personal brand, taking control of their own PR, and how to become a person of influence in their business sector. The session will also cover the steps to take if your reputation is damaged by adverse media coverage or harmful social media posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Emma said: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I am passionate about equity and increasing the visibility of women and their achievements.\u202fWomen are currently under-represented in the world of IP \u2013 both as attorneys and inventors, but this is improving and I am hopeful that more women and girls will choose a career in IP in the future.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/forresters-ip.com\/de\/people\/charlotte-sunderland\/\">Charlotte Sunderland<\/a>, Head of our Equality and Diversity group, said: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I am immensely proud of the work our Equality and Diversity group do, helping to ensure Forresters remains an inclusive and positive workplace for all our colleagues. International Women\u2019s Day is an important occasion that provides us all with an opportunity to think about the ways we can contribute to a fairer society, both in and out of the workplace. I look forward to embracing equity alongside my colleagues and celebrating International Women\u2019s Day once again this year!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Colleagues across our offices gathered to show their support by striking the 2023 campaign\u2019s \u201cembrace equity\u201d pose.
